International diplomatic efforts are underway to try to end to the fighting in Ethiopia.
U.S. and African envoys have both held meetings with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Tigrayan leaders.
Abiy has been locked in a year-long battle with Tigrayan rebels, who have threatened to seize the capital Addis Ababa.
A humanitarian crisis is also spiralling in the northern Tigray region, with only a fraction of aid getting in.
So who, if anyone, can mediate the crisis to prevent the country falling into civil war?
