One of the aims of the African Union’s Agenda 2063 is to end all wars and violent conflicts on the continent by among other things promoting dialogue-based mechanisms for conflict prevention and resolution. The lead project of Agenda 2063 was ‘Silencing the Guns in Africa by 2020’. This didn’t happen, and sadly a number of old conflicts have continued and new ones have begun.
