NSW COVID-19 cases jump, New Moderna vaccine deal | Coronavirus | 9 News Australia

Subscribe and 🔔: | New South Wales has recorded 804 new cases of COVID-19, just one day before a swathe of restrictions will ease across the state. Health authorities have expressed concerns a potential Omicron outbreak could have begun in Newcastle, following positive cases from a popular nightclub and pub. The jump in COVID-19 cases in NSW will not impact restrictions being rolled back tomorrow, the state’s health minister has confirmed. Rules will relax at 12.01am, including for the unvaccinated.

In politics news, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a deal between Moderna and the Victorian government to produce COVID-19 vaccines in Australia looks set to go ahead.
