Thousands of people gathered in central Vienna to protest against the new tough pandemic measures in Austria. Whistling, clapping, blowing horns and banging drums, protesters – many of them far-right supporters – streamed into Heroes’ Square in front of the Hofburg on Saturday. With daily infections still setting records, the government said it would send Austria back into lockdown from Monday and make it compulsory to get vaccinated from 1 February
