The African Union (AU) has suspended Sudan from the continental bloc due to the ongoing military coup in the country. It comes after the African Union Peace and Security Council have declared the coup ‘unconstitutional’. Sudan will not be able to participate in AU activities until its leadership returns to what the council calls ‘a civilian-led and consensual transition leadership’.
